The Elevating Boarding Bridge is a variation on the Pedestal Boarding Bridge and gives an extra option when considering apron / terminal layouts. A complete solution, it serves all commercial aircraft in service including the A380.

The double lift column design of the Elevating Boarding Bridge makes it ideally suited to interface directly to the terminal building without the need for a secondary node or access way. For this reason, depending on the configuration of the terminal, we often recommend our Elevating Bridge over our Pedestal Bridge because it incorporates a walkway which can be mounted directly onto the face of the terminal. Cairns Airport specified five of our Elevating Bridges specifically because of the commonality with its existing bridges and the more efficient use of available apron space.

A double lift column with dual drive is used to raise and lower the bridge.
